Let someone in your Wave call help on your PC, and stay in charge of it.
Wave Assist is a small Windows app. During a live Wave call, it lets one person you choose move the mouse and type in one window of your computer, while everyone in the call can see who is in control. It only works inside a call, only after you agree three times, and it stops the moment you say so.
For testers: this build is not signed yet
While Wave Assist is in testing, its installer is not signed with Wave's certificate. Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" and name an unknown publisher. Only continue (More info, then Run anyway) if you downloaded it from this page on wavesite.ai yourself. Never run a Wave Assist file that someone sent you in a chat, an email or a call. Signed builds will replace this before Wave Assist opens to everyone.
How it starts: three yeses, all yours
- STEP 1In the call
Someone asks to control your shared screen. You see their verified Wave name, how old their account is and whether it is verified. No is the default, and you can let them point instead.
- STEP 2A code from your PC
Wave Assist opens on your computer and shows a 6-character code. You type it into your own Wave call window. Never read it to anyone: nobody at Wave will ever ask for it.
- STEP 3On your PC
Wave Assist asks once more, naming you, the room and the person, then you pick one window (recommended) or a whole screen. Only then can they control it.
What it can do
- Let one person in your call move the mouse, click, scroll and type in the window you picked, while that window is in front.
- Show a coloured border around what is shared and a small bar with Stop that stays on top.
- Show everyone in the call who is controlling whose screen.
What it cannot do
- Start by itself, run in the background, open at start-up, or work outside a live Wave call.
- Be used again later: every session needs a new request and your three yeses.
- Press the Windows key or its shortcuts, close Wave Assist, or type into admin or UAC windows.
- Act while your PC is locked, or keep going when you touch your own mouse or keyboard (you always win).
- Copy files or your clipboard, record your screen, or see anything you did not share.
Stopping it, any time
- Press Stop on the Wave Assist bar, or Stop in your Wave call.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + End on your own keyboard.
- Quit Wave Assist, lock your PC, stop sharing, or leave the call.
A host can also stop it. Control also ends by itself if the connection drops, or when Wave can no longer confirm that you are both still in the call and still sharing.
Your Wave account is locked while someone controls your PC
From the moment you type the code until control ends, Wave refuses these on your account: withdrawals and payouts, changing your payout address, password, 2FA or email, API keys, opening, closing or changing live trades and orders, connecting or disconnecting MT5 accounts, and copy-trading settings and funding. You will see "Not while someone is controlling your computer. Stop control first."
This only protects your Wave account. Other apps and sites in reach of the shared window are not locked, which is why sharing one window, not your whole screen, is the safer choice.
Be careful who you let in
Only allow people you know and trust. Wave staff will never ask to control your computer. Someone with control could, in that window, install other remote-access software or change settings, so watch what they do and stop it if anything looks wrong. Each session is recorded in Wave's log (who, when, which room, how it ended) for 180 days; your keystrokes and screen are never stored.
